Detroit Worldwide is a platform that was created as a resource to connect other Detroiters as well as tell the rich history of Detroit as told by its guests
ABOUT ME
I was born, bred, and raised in Detroit, MI. I am a product of Detroit Public Schools and graduate of both Wayne State University and Eastern Michigan University. In short, I am a Detroiter and Michigander through and through.
In 2013, I accepted a job offer in Minnesota that took me away from the state of Michigan. But I have always kept the D close because it instilled a level of excellence and unspeakable confidence within me.
With this, I wanted to create a space that amplified Detroit’s Black excellence and came up with the idea of Detroit Worldwide. Officially launched as a platform in 2019, Detroit Worldwide was created as a way to connect other Detroiters that live in areas across the globe. It was also created as a way to amplify the city’s Black excellence, culture, and history through curated stories as told by native Detroiters.
I view this podcast as our collective love letter to Detroit where we relive our memories and share stories whether they be good, bad, or ugly. Detroit has done so much for me. It gave me confidence, taught me to appreciate my Blackness, and embrace Black people.
Most of all, it gave me a passion for creativity and community. This platform is a reflection of my two loves, so I present it with love.
