Let Her "B" featuring Britney Underwood

In this installment of the Detroit Worldwide Podcast, Marquis connects with Britney Underwood about her experience growing up in the D along with the challenges she faced navigating college as a first-generation student.

Britney also highlights her travels to Ghana and her upcoming graduation from Grand Valley State University where she is completing her graduate studies. 

 

Britney Underwood is a native of Detroit, MI and a graduate of Northwestern HS. She attended and graduated from Kentucky State University which is Kentucky's only HBCU with a Bachelors of Art in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She marched saxophone in the Marching Band and joined Tau Beta Sigma Sorority, a music sorority. After graduated she relocated back to Michigan where she worked at AmeriCorps before deciding to pursue a Masters in Higher Education with an emphasis in College Student Affairs Leadership at Grand Valley State University. She currently works as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Multicultural Affairs at GVSU and earned her graduate degree in April 2019.
