In this installment of the Detroit Worldwide Podcast, Marquis connects with fellow Wayne State graduate and Detroit native, Ammi White about her experiences growing up the city, career transitions, and the importance of interpersonal communication in the world of work.
Ammi also discusses some of her favorite hangout spots in Chicago and what it means to find space when moving to a new city.
About Ammi:
Ammi White is a graduate of THE Cass Technical High School and Wayne State University where she earned her bachelor of arts in journalism. She spent a short time working on a local radio show before transitioning to Marketing. During her six-year tenure, she developed into a self-taught marketer where she learned about cross-channel customer experiences, improving customer loyalty, personalizing marketing strategies, eliminating organizational silos and creating customer-centric communications.
She continued her education at Northwestern University earning a Masters degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, a consumer-focused and data-leading approach to marketing.
Post-grad, Ammi now works at an Agency/Consultancy in the Loop in Chicago. She’s a Strategic Business Consultant. Her experience and focus areas include segmentation strategy, consumer insights, customer experience, and loyalty across industries such as home services, financial services, airlines, QSR, hospitality, and healthcare.
Ammi enjoys brunching and happy hours, collecting travel points, good convos with friends and family and all that jazz.
