In this installment of the Detroit Worldwide Podcast, Marquis connects with entrepreneur extraordinaire, Aisha Griffin about the origins of her company, Coil Beauty, an online beauty boutique which markets  directly to Black consumers by selling Black-owned products.

Aisha also her upbringing in Detroit and how her work in Corporate America and a visit to Australia helped to propel the launch of her company.

About Aisha:

Coil Beauty Founder and CEO, Aisha Griffin, has over a decade of customer service experience, and digital marketing experience.

Her struggle with going natural and locating the best products for her hair as well as the poor treatment many African-Americans face at the hands of neighborhood beauty supply stores inspired her to found Coil Beauty.

Aisha is a native of Detroit, MI. She received her bachelor’s degree from Spelman College and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from Cornell University.  

She is passionate about uplifting her community as well as educating them on the best products to use daily.  Aisha currently resides in Chicago, IL wither her husband Kendall Griffin, her two amazing bonus children, Kayla and Kendall Jr. (KJ) and new baby girl, Addison.
